Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co (Petro Rabigh) has announced that it has started production from its propylene oxide plant in Rabigh on the western coast of Saudi Arabia.
The company said that the plant, which has a production capacity of 200,000 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa), is running at 100% and expected to start exports shortly.
Petro Rabigh also said that the start up of its propylene oxide plant will have a positive impact on the company income during the fourth quarter.

The company also announced that it had started selling polypropylene in the India and Chinese markets in August, following the successful start up of its plant. The company produces 300.000 mtpa of polypropylene.
Petro Rabigh is a joint venture between state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco and Japan's Sumitomo Chemical.
