A major contract to upgrade 14 bulk fuel plants in the KSA has been awarded by energy giant Saudi Aramco to a local company according to sources close to the project.
Reuters reported that MS Al Suwaidi Industrial Services Co are the successful bidders for the US$200 million contract, which will see storage capacity for Aramco’s oil products increased across the Kingdom.
The contract is a major coup for Suwaidi as other the bidders for the project included industry contracting giants such as Petrofac (UK), Technip (France), Tecnicas Reunidas (Spain) and SK Engineering & Construction (South Korea).
The contract is due to last for 30 months and it is believed that Suwaidi will sub-contract the engineering work to a specialist contractor.
