Chevron announces Qatari LNG deal

Chevron has announced that it has signed a supply agreement with Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company, an affiliate of RasGas for the delivery of Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The US energy giant will receive multiple cargoes of LNG from Qatar under flexible terms that begin in July 2009.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
