Saudi Sahara starts commissioning of $666m plant

The Saudi Sahara petrochemical company has started commissioning its propylene plant in Al-Jubail industrial zone in Saudi Arabia, the company said in statement that was published on the Saudi stock market.
The US$666.6 million plant, which will produce 460,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of propylene, is one of the company’s major projects and is a joint venture between Saudi Sahara which controls 75% of the development and LyondellBasell that has 25%.
Saudi Sahara are also developing the Saudi ethylene and polyethylene project in a joint venture with Tasnee and LyondellBasell.
Sahara Petrochemical is listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange. Its subsidiaries are: Al Waha Petrochemical Co, and Manufacturing and Sahara Company for Olyphants. It partially-owns in the Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Co.
