Offshore accommodation growth

Offshore accommodation and container specialists The Ferguson Group has announced rapid growth for 2007, with turnover rising by 45% to over US$50 million, giving record pre-tax profits of more than $4 million.

The company, which operates internationally and has contracts in Africa and the Middle East, provides accommodation modules and containers for the energy industry.

Ferguson revealed that it had focussed on international growth in 2007 resulting in major contract wins in locations worldwide, including West Africa, Australia, USA, and the Caspian region.

The Group has invested almost US$30 million globally in a fleet expansion programme for its modular and container divisions, which has seen fleet numbers expand to over 10,000 containers and more than 200 modules to meet unprecedented levels of demand from clients worldwide.

"There are huge opportunities on offer in the energy sector globally and our focus over the last 12 months has been on growing our international operations to give our customers the best possible service," said Steven Ferguson, Group Managing Director.

"We aim to continue to grow over the coming year and have set the divisions in the group ambitious, achievable targets for structured expansion. We will support this with investments of over US$110 million across the divisions over the next three years, and our highly-skilled and committed workforce will continue to work to meet demand within the oil and gas industry for our products and services," he added.
