Improving plant and equipment reliabilityby Yasmin Helal on Nov 30, 2016
Key stakeholders to meet the at the 5th Annual Shutdowns, Turnarounds and Outages (STO) MENA conference to understand how they can best manage shutdowns and turnarounds plus improve their plant and equipment reliability.
The summit is taking place between 6 and 7 December 2016 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to help the region’s oil and gas companies to review and improve their STO processes, technologies and practices.
Production losses alone can cost oil and gas companies tens of millions of dollars for just one day of downtime, without even accounting for the cost of contractors and manpower used during a shutdown. With the current market scenario, the challenge for oil and gas companies is how to reduce costs of shutdowns without jeopardising quality and safety.
The 5th Annual Shutdowns, Turnarounds, and Outages conference will bring together the region’s leading oil and gas companies to discuss whether zero shutdowns is an achievable objective, how to implement zero-based budgeting, best methods for online maintenance and inspection, and the continued search for the right contractor.
Some of the speakers at the event include representatives from Saudi Aramco, Qatar Petroleum, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, and Kuwait Oil Company.
