Wim Roels, the CEO of the Borouge Sales and Marketing Company has steered the company from strength to strength. Borouge 3 expansion is growing the company into a global player and Roels is incharge of transforming the company into a multi-national with more products and larger customer base.

Roels replaced William Yau who moved to Borealis as Senior Vice President for Commercial Excellence. Appointed to drive forward the further growth of Borouge together with Abdulaziz Alhajri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Polymers - Borouge, Roels came to Borouge with a broad experience in production, innovation and business management.

Prior to joining Borouge he was the Senior Vice President for Borealis Business Unit Film and Fibre and his previous managerial roles include Vice President for the Moulding Business Unit, Vice President for Innovation and Technology and leading the production operations of Borealis in Belgium.

Roels is a Belgium citizen and started his career in the polyurethane and phenolic foams business in 1984, and in 1989 he joined Borealis as a Technical Service and Development Engineer for moulding applications, and later as Research Centre Manager in Porvoo, Finland.
